Há 20 anos, Sam e Dean Winchester perderam sua mãe em um trágico e misterioso acidente, no qual as forças sobrenaturais (muito obscuras) estiveram envolvidas. Por esta razão, seu pai decidiu ensiná-los a lidar com a vida sobrenatural, ensinando-lhes técnicas de defesa contra as forças do mal; chegando até a ensinar a maneira ideal para matar os diferentes tipos de demônios. Agora, os irmãos Winchester percorrem os Estados Unidos em seu velho Chevy travando uma verdadeira batalha contra a obscuridade e a maldade.
